James Edward Miner, age 66, of West Chicago, passed away unexpectedly on January 4, 2020. He was born on October 16, 1953 in Columbus, OH to Charles and Norma Jean Miner. Jim was a husband, father, grandfather, son, sibling and friend. Each house he owned was a home where family and friends gathered to celebrate the happy occasions and the difficult times, always with him showing his love through his flair in the kitchen. A proud Irishman with a big heart, he welcomed all to enjoy his quick wit, his wonderful meals, and his voluminous record collection. When he was not at home bringing together his family and grandchildren, he traveled the world and across the U.S. throughout a career in sales and marketing.
Jim is survived by his wife, Sharon Miner (Gessel); children, Jodi Miner, Cori Miner (Fiancé Dan Ranallo) and Jim (Natalie) Miner; grandchildren, Joseph, Isabella, Dylan and Sawyer; siblings, Catherine Miner, Patrick (Roxanne) Miner, Mary (David) Mitchell, Thomas (Rose) Miner, Elizabeth (Richard) Frank, Michele Murray (Fiancé Arne Pederson), Meg (Mark) Bickel and Joanne (Tom) DiSalvi; mother-in-law, Suzan (Lynn) McKenzie; step-mother-in-law, Debra Gessel; many nieces, nephews; relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Braylon; father-in-law, Bruce Gessel and brother-in-law, Pat Murray.
